How much does a new driveway cost?

Generally, in our area a new driveway costs around $15-25,000 for a standard 2-car garage driveway and more for more area. Beware going cheaper! There are contractors who will, but they skip steps in the process, use the wrong PSI concrete, skip rebar(!) and base, or don’t prep for paving properly and you will have roots, weeds, and cracks in no time. Do not go after the lowest bid.

Why do I need to hire a licensed, insured and bonded contractor for masonry and concrete?

Licensed general contractors have the following advantages over non-licensed contractors or handymen. 1) They have insurance and bond that covers any potential damage to them or to the homeowner – saving you potentially thousands of dollars. 2) They generally do the work to updated modern building code, which they are required to keep up to date with. 3) They can pull any necessary permit under their business and insurance. 4) They generally have a larger online presence, so they painstakingly guard their reputation and have a higher incentive to keep customer happy, otherwise they lose valuable business!

What is the advantage of remodeling a driveway, or adding walls, fences, stone or pavers?

The curb appeal of an upgraded designed masonry incorporated front yard and value add to backyard is quite dramatic. This can raise the property value by potentially up to 15%. But also, it will absolutely enhance your life and the function of your home.

Who buys the materials needed? Is it included in estimates?

We include labor and materials into our price. Unusually expensive pavers or stone choices would either need to be discussed prior to the estimate or covered by owner.

What if I don't really have the money to remodel my house properly?

Some options you can try are financing – personal loans are often approved in just hours or a couple days for home improvement. A home equity line of credit or refinance cash out certainly can help, but if you don’t want to pull equity out, consider saving until you can afford a truly quality remodel!

Do you offer free estimates? Do you use salesmen or send a contractor?

YES, despite current gas prices, if you are within 20 miles of our location in Mission Viejo, we do STILL offer free estimates. We currently do not have salesmen, we do the estimates ourselves, but we also are at the job sites and work all day in construction, running materials and overseeing jobs. We offer a window of time to come do the estimate and you will have an experienced contractor consulting with you. For us a free estimate doesn’t mean we take lightly running around offering quotes. We sometimes take hours to put together estimates and we take it very seriously.
